I had to bring this collaboration back out of the vault. This happened to be one of my favorite shoots of 2016. unfortunately due to the constipation of life I never really got to promote this work the way I wanted.... So there's no time like the present.
My beautiful and talented friend and FHYEA sister, Brenda Nicole Moorer, called me and asked if I would like to work on a collaboration with her and band, Kissing Electric, for their new song "Drifting". Of course I was down!
Kissing Electric was pretty specific in their vision. They originally wanted a latex mask of sorts, that had bold sharp lines (because of shooting on green screen). Even though they requested latex, I decided creatively matte shadows infused with a shimmer or two would work better for the over all feel. Brenda's essence is powerful but carries a soft subtle nature. I didn't want the makeup to out shine the subtlety of her spirit. With Brenda, it's her effortless approach to singing, loving, and creating, that is so mesmerizing. I wanted to enhance that, but in no way over shadow it. Matte colors along with color blocking and bold lines became the way to go. It WORKED for me! She beasted this look! Brenda wore the makeup as if it wasn't there. The makeup seemed to be apart of her world, and not something performed. I LOVED IT!!
